Tamaqua woman jailed after dispute

A Tamaqua woman was lodged in the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville on Feb. 17 following a domestic dispute.

Tamaqua police received a call at 6:56 p.m. with the caller reporting there was a disturbance at 14 W. Broad St. The caller said one of the subjects was armed and that someone had been cut.At the scene Patrolman Peter Wysochansky could hear loud noises coming from a second floor apartment. He knocked on the door and was greeted by Brian Dennis, 34. Sitting on the floor inside the apartment was Christine Ritter, 25. When questioned separately, both claimed they had been having a verbal argument.Dennis had a laceration on has head and claimed the cut was from a workout he had the day before. EMS examined and treated the wound, which was obviously fresh.A routine check on both parties determined that Ritter was on probation, with an alcohol restriction. Since she was visibly intoxicated she was arrested and Schuylkill County Adult Probation office issued a detainer for her.She was then transported to the county prison.
