State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers recently.
A two vehicle rear-end type crash occurred about 9:49 a.m. on July 28 along SR209 ((Interchange Road), in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Jeremy M. Westwood, 25, of Summit Hill, driving a 2006 Chevrolet HHR, and Douglas J. Nothstein, 31, of Lehighton, operating a 2005 Dodge Ram truck, were northbound when Nothstein stopped abruptly for a vehicle that had suddenly stopped in front of him.
Westwood was unable to stop in time and the front of his vehicle hit the rear of the truck. Westwood and passengers Christina Zver, 25, Jeremy Westwood Jr., 1, and Paul Westwood, 6, all of Summit Hill, and Nothstein, were all not injured.
Troopers cited Westwood for following too closely.
A one vehicle crash occurred about 11:05 a.m. on July 27 along Memorial Drive, in Polk Township. Troopers said Joshua S. Warner, 20, of Kunkletown, was operating a 1995 Honda Accord eastbound when his car went off the road and crashed head-on into two trees.
Warner and passenger, Kyle A. Warner, 22, also of Kunkletown, were not injured. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
The driver was cited for careless driving.
A two vehicle hit and run crash was reported about 9:30 p.m. on July 26 at the intersection of Old Route 115 and Evergreen Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Dennis J. Erb, 60, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 1993 Chevrolet Corvette eastbound on 115 and attempting to make a left turn
