An area church that plans to expand its existing facility received the green light from the Carbon County Planning Commission.

On Tuesday, the planning commission voted to recommend plan approval for Blue Mountain Community Church's building expansion project. The church is located at 25 Oak St., Towamensing Township.

According to the plans, the church is proposing to construct a 5,000-square-foot addition to the existing church facility.

Officials briefly discussed the plans before voting on county planner Ivan O. Meixell's recommendation for plan approval.

The board also voted to recommend approval on four other subdivision plans. They are as follows:

Ÿ Gary L and Carol J. Ziegenfuss; David C. Michael N. and Timothy N. Trainer received plan approval for their proposed subdivision at 147 Rock St., Franklin Township and a proposed lot line revision at 377 Rock St. The plans call for subdividing the Trainer's tract of land into two lots, a .187-acre lot and a 4.863-acre lot. The .187-acre lot would then be combined with a 1.317-acre lot and a .715-acre lot, owned by Ziegenfuss, to make a new 2.219-acre lot.

Ÿ Michael and Meredith Alabovitz received approval for their proposed lot line revision at 325 E. Fell St., Summit Hill. The plans call for combining three parcels of land to create a .258-acre lot.

Ÿ Paul Berger received plan approval for his sketch plan of record on a proposed subdivision at 4145 Fireline Road, Lower Towamensing Township. Plans call for subdividing 11.63 acres into two lots.

Ÿ William R. Glawe received approval for his sketch plan of record on a proposed subdivision at 323 White St., Bowmanstown. The plans call for subdividing .248 acres into two lots.
