State police conducted operation CRASH (Commonwealth Rural Roads and State Highways), enforcement on Aug. 24 throughout the state.

A total of 181 trucks were taken out of service in the effort and 30 commercial drivers were taken off the road.

Troopers inspected 1,112 commercial vehicles resulting in 687 traffic citations during the one day enforcement.

In addition, there were 1,477 written warnings for vehicle and driver violations.

Locally in the Troop L area of Berks, Lebanon and Schuylkill counties there were 44 inspections, three vehicles out of service, no drivers out of service, 26 citations issued and 29 warnings.

In Troop M area of Bucks, Lehigh and Northampton counties there were 43 inspections, nine vehicles out of service, no drivers out of service, 30 citations and 73 warnings.

Troop N area of Carbon, Columbia, Monroe and part of Luzerne, did not participate.
