The Schuylkill County Planning Commission reviewed at its monthly meeting held Wednesday evening at the courthouse in Pottsville a number of projects proposed for the area and found they complied with the county comprehensive land use plan.

The Lansford-Coaldale Joint Water Authority notified the county it is preparing a public water supply permit amendment for Pump House Number Two in Coaldale.

The report states this project involves the construction of a new sodium hypochlorite disinfection system at the authority's pump house because the construction is necessary to meet the current regulations as set forth in the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) groundwater rule.

Walker Township has submitted an application for a general permit to DEP for the Catawissa Road Bridge superstructure replacement project.

K&K Coal Company, LLC, has submitted an application for a surface mining permit for the mining of anthracite coal on 236 acres of land located north and east of Kaska in Blythe Township.

Aqua Pennsylvania Inc., North Union Township, has submitted an application for a public water supply permit to install a new chlorine contact pipe to comply with the four log groundwater requirements for two well stations off of Saint Moritz Drive in Cove Village development.

GSP Management Company, 14 All Kings Drive, New Ringgold, submitted an application for the development of the remaining lots in the West Penn Pines subdivision in West Penn Township.

ASC Group, West Penn Township, has submitted an application to DEP as part of a bridge replacement project which carries SR309 over Lizard Creek in West Penn Township.

Schuylkill County Airport, Foster Township, has submitted a permit for their taxiway rehabilitation project.

East Union Township supervisors have sent a letter to DEP to notify them that the Lipko Subdivision has completed component one of the planning module and the township has accepted it as being adequate.

East Brunswick Township has completed a draft proposed zoning ordinance which will be distributed at a public meeting. Its intent is to adopt the zoning ordinance at its Dec. 8 meeting. The township is currently regulated by the county planning zoning office. The township plans to start regulating the zoning possibly as early as Jan. 1, 2012.

Subdivisions

The commission gave final approval for the plan of RCMS Investments, L.P., to subdivide 136 acres in Frailey, Porter and Tremont townships into seven annexations.

Conditional approvals were given to two plans.

Garman Poultry Operation Expansion, Washington Township, to use 36.1 acres for crop production and animal husbandry; and Dairy Expansion Company, Washington Township, to use 123.1 acres for dairy expansion.
