The first of six small group budget discussion groups will be held Wednesday, Nov 17 at 10 a.m. in the Gathering Room for Tamaqua Zion Lutheran Church members.

The 2010 budget was approved by Church Council at its Nov. 9 meeting and will be up for final approval at a Dec. 12 congregational meeting following the Sunday service.Members with concerns or comments about the budget are urged to attend one of the small group meetings as the budget will not be discussed in detail at the Dec. 12 meeting. Though final approval will be sought at that meeting, the focus of the meeting will be on the election of Church Council members and a discussion of what the proposed budget says about the congregation and its direction.Other small group meetings will be held Nov. 21, 28 and Dec. 5 after the Sunday service and Nov. 24 at 2 p.m. and Dec. 2 at 7 p.m.Members are urged to sign up for the meetings on Sundays or by calling the church office at 668-2180. Walk-ins are not encouraged. A meeting will not be held if no one has signed up to attend it.
