Cole Wenner has been an important member of the Wilkes Barre Jr. Penguins 9-10 year old youth hockey team that just recently captured first place honors at two prestigious tournaments . Wenner, a fourth grader in the Palmerton School district, was part of a Penguins team that recently captured the championship of both the Delaware Valley Hockey League Squirt B Tournament and the Washington D.C. Congressional Cup Tournament. Wenner has been playing ice hockey for five years. He is a defenseman for the Pens. Wenner and his teammates were recognized for their achievements on Sunday, March 28 when they were invited onto the ice between periods of the Wilkes-Barre Penguins AHL game.
