Rush Twp. police make arrests

Rush Township police have made several arrests, including two for retail theft, one for animal cruelty and criminal mischief, and another on an outstanding warrant.

On Sept, 17, at about 7:41 p.m., police arrested Robert Macharsky Jr, 36, of Lansford, on a bench warrant after responding to a domestic violence call in the Wal-Mart parking lot.Macharsky will also be facing charges of false identification to law enforcement authorities and resisting arrest. He was lodged in the Schuylkill County prison on the bench warrant.On Sept. 18, at about 3:52 p.m. Christopher Haldeman, 32, of Mahanoy City, was arrested for retail theft at Wal-Mart. Police allege he attempted to steal multiple items of merchandise.On Sept. 20, at about 12:40 p.m., Christopher Treadwell, 19, of Tamaqua, was arrested for retail theft at Wal-Mart. He allegedly attempted to steal electronic items.On Sept. 19, at about 2:35 p.m. police arrested Donna Saylor, 60, of Nesquehoning, for cruelty to animals and criminal mischief.Saylor allegedly stabbed a dog multiple times with a knife and broke a neighbor's window. The dog was transported to a local vet for treatment.
