The Tamaqua Fire Department has announced the following events for National Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 4-10.

The public is invited to attend all events.The open houses will run from 6:30 - 8 p.m. The school programs will run from 9 a.m-3 p.m. with a break for lunch around noon.This year's theme is fire extinguishers, with hands on demosntrations.Monday, Oct. 5 : Open house, Citizens Fire Co. Berwick and Rowe St.Tuesday, Oct. 6 : School program at Tamaqua Elementary SchoolTuesday, Oct. 6 : Open house, American Hose Co. Mauch Chunk and Pine St.Wednesday, Oct. 7 : School Program, at St. Jerome's School.Wednesday, Oct. 7 : Open house, East End Fire Co. E. Broad St.Thursday, Oct. 8 : Open House, South Ward Fire Co.
