State police at Frackville charged Robert Joseph Ryan Jr. of Barnesville with burglary, criminal trespass for an incident that took place at 11 p.m. Sept. 1, at the home of Donald Marcinczyk. Police said that Ryan entered the Marcinczyk home through an unlocked door and once inside he was observed sneaking around before fleeing. Marcinczyk confronted Ryan and Ryan attempted to strike the victim with his fist when the victim defended himself by striking Ryan in the face. Ryan then fled the scene before he was placed into custody by police at his residence.

Lansford police have been busy with a number of criminal incidents:

On Aug. 1, a resident on the 200 block of W. Ridge Street reported vandalism to the driver-side of his vehicle. Some type of sharp object was used to scratch the paint from the fender to the quarter panel.

On Aug. 2, a resident reported a break-in to his residence. A door was damaged but nothing appeared to be taken from the residence.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks are investigating an incident where an object thrown at a moving truck resulted in its windshield being smashed.

The incident happened at 10:01 p.m. Wednesday when Richard Lawson Matthias Jr., 21, of Hideaway Drive, New Tripoli, was driving north on Gun Club Road in Lynn Township.

Police said someone in a vehicle that was southbound threw the unknown object at his 1992 Chevrolet Silverado truck. The object struck the windshield as the vehicle fled the scene. Damages are estimated at $150.

Four females from Albrightsville (ages, 14, 16, 17 and 17) who were involved in a name-calling fracas on Thursday at 3:50 p.m. at the Twin Pine Lake bus stop in Indian Mountain Lakes, Monroe County, have been charged with harassment by state police at the Fern Ridge barracks.

A vehicle owned by Elena Gregoire of New Tripoli was damaged in a criminal mischief incident between 9:30 p.m. Monday and 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to state police at the Fogelsville barracks.

The incident happened at 6391 Rt. 309 in Heidelberg Township.

Police said actor(s) damaged Gregorie's vehicle by breaking the front license plate, cracking the windshield, pulling off the side door panel strip and throwing gum and cigarettes on its hood.

Clarence Neuin, 75, of Lebanon, was hurt in a motorcycle crash Thursday at 12:39 p.m. on Route 54 in the area of the entrance to the Lakeside Ballroom in Ryan Township, according to state police at the Frackville barracks.

Police said he was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

Police said he was driving a 1992 Kawasaki motorcycle east on Rt. 54 when he lost control of the cycle while negotiating a sharp left-hand turn in the roadway. The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, rolled over and crashed on the side of the road.

Two criminal mischief incidents that happened in Penn Forest Township are being investigated by state police at the Fern Ridge barracks.

The first case happened between 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The victim is Palver Payne, 50, of Albrightsville.

Police said someone threw between 100 and 200 nails in the victim's driveway at 18 Geiger Lane, Valley View Estates.

The second case happened bewteen 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. The victim is the Valley View Estates Property Owners Association, Albrightsville.

A Tamaqua man has been cited after an alleged confrontation with his ex-girfriend Thursday morning.

Officers were dispatched to 398 W. Cottage Ave. at 12:32 a.m. to deal with a male who had reportedly assualted a woman and then threatened to harm himself. At the scene, oficers found Scott Evan George, 36, walking down the steps from the residence. The initial report cautioned the suspect was possibly armed with a knife, which was later found inside the residence.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks are investigating a harassment case in which a New Tripoli man is the victim.

Police said Kenneth Dengler of New Tripoli reported he has received numerous unwanted and annoying letters from an anonymous person. The incidents happened on July 8 and 14 and Aug. 30.

Police said an arrest is anticipated.
