A Berks County man was jailed this week in Schuylkill County on multiple charges of sexual assault on a juvenile.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Daren Levan, 44, of Hamburg, was arrested on Thursday, June 2, at his place of employment without incident.

He has been charged with the following criminal counts: 10 counts each of corruption of minors, indecent exposure and open lewdness, eight counts of indecent assault, six counts of unlawful contact with a child, four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, and three counts of sexual abuse of children.

A Monroe County man was cited for criminal mischief following an incident that occurred about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, in the area of 8665 Kings Way, in Robinhood Lakes, Polk Township.

State police at Lehighton said Timothy Schmid, 21, of Kunkletown, was charged after he allegedly smashed the window on the 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer of Matthew Shea, 20, of Saylorsburg.

A Kunkletown woman was injured when her motorcycle was involved in an accident with a car on SR248 in Lower Towamensing Township. The accident happened at 9:29 a.m. on June 3.

State police at Lehighton said Valerie A. Kurko, 27, was driving the motorcycle eastbound, crossed into the left lane and struck a car operated by Nathan A. Smith, 21, of Lehighton.

A passenger in the Smith vehicle was Tonya M. Leslie, 21, of Lehighton.

Neither Smith nor Leslie were injured.

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a two vehicle crash about 7:04 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, at the intersection of Main Road and Wagner St., in Franklin Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Samantha D. Drum, 36, of Lehighton, was operating a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer when she failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection. She entered the intersection and her vehicle was struck by a 2002 Chevrolet Impala driven by William J. Hill, 29, of Lehighton.

Hill was injured and transported to the Lehighton hospital by Lehighton ambulance. Drum was not injured.

State police at Lehighton reported on a burglary and several theft incidents probed by troopers.

The break-in occurred at the trailer home of Wilbert Oscar Springer, 77, of 2305 Deer Lane, Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Entry was made through the front door. Once inside the criminals went through the entire trailer. The only thing reported removed was a 30-year-old chain saw located in the master bedroom. The incident occurred sometime between Jan. 12 and May 25, troopers said.

A Tamaqua man was cited for multiple violations after police observed him operating a dirt bike on borough streets on May 21.

An officer was on patrol in the East End section and observed the dirt bike turning left on to Patterson Street, then turn on Arlington, going the wrong way. The operator was stopped and identified as Kerry Scott Fulmer, 40, of 513 Lombard St. Fulmer was cited for operating a dirt bike on a borough street, driving while under suspension and driving without insurance.

Two individuals cited by Lehighton borough police officers.

Ralph Fisher, 54, of South Ninth Street, Lehighton, was cited for public drunkeness after an incident which occurred on Friday, June 3, at 1:38 a.m. in the vicinity of the 300 block of North East Alley.

Christy Ruch, 36, of 306 N. Second St., Lehighton, was cited for a violation of a borough ordinance regarding dogs running at large. This violation occurred at 11:05 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, in the vicinity of 304 N. Second St.

A Lackawanna County man was arrested this week for violating the conditions of Megan's Law.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said they were contacted by state police that Henry John Waldron, 28, of Thornhurst, was employed at a business in Coolbaugh Township and needed that verified. Officers went to the business and spoke with the owner who said Waldron was employed there but his employment was terminated.

Tamaqua police cited two people May 27 after an altercation at 212 1/2 Orwigsburg St.

Officers were dispatched to the home at 6:43 p.m. and spoke with Raymond Reinert, 51. Reinert told officers he had been attacked by Michelle Valentine Rex, 36, of 220 1/5 Penn St., Tamaqua. Officers then contacted Rex at her home who said Reinert pushed her first.

Both were cited for disorderly conduct and Schuylkill County Children and Youth were notified due to conditions found at the Rex home.
