Paschali Obialo, 43, of Albrightsville, escaped injuries in a one-car crash at 4:46 March 15 on Route 534 in Polk Township, according to state police at the Lehighton barracks.

Police said the accident happened near Queens Way Road at the entrance to the Robinhood lakes development.

Police said Obialo was driving a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo southbound on Rt. 534 when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to slide off the right side of the roadway and strike a wooden sign and a boulder before rolling over onto its roof.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said they were summoned to a simple assault incident when three youths were involved in an altercation at 5:45 p.m. March 15 at 615 Franklin St. in that community.

Police said a 12-year-old girl threw a razor scooter at a 10-year-old boy, who required treatment for minor injuries he sustained. Two 12-year-old boys were also at the scene at the time, police said.

Police said that due to the ages of the participants, charges will not be filed in the incident.

Robert L. Furlong, 41, of Emmaus, escaped injuries in a crash at 7:08 a.m. March 7 on Mill Road in Upper Milford Township, according to state police at the Fogelsville barracks.

Police said he was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu west on Mill Road and swerved to the right to avoid another vehicle when his car struck a concrete light post.

Police said the other vehicle, a 2005 Suzuki Forenza, was eastbound at the time when its operator lost control on ice and the vehicle rotated clockwise into Furlong's lane of travel, causing him to swerve the vehicle.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks said a New Tripoli man has been committed to the Lehigh County Prison, Allentown, on a warrant that had been issued for his arrest after an incident at 12:30 p.m. March 11.

Police said James Edward Hoover was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment after an incident at 8781 Muse Road, Weisenberg Township.

Police said the victim is a 15-year-old girl from New Tripoli, who told police the accused assaulted her several times and attempted to his her with his vehicle.

Coaldale police have arrested a New York man on drug charges, and the borough woman at whose apartment he was found on parole violation charges.

Marcel Mamouzette, 46, of 135 Ingraham Rd., Hempstead, was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Monroe County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's assistance in an investigation.

State police at Fern Ridge reported that on Monday, June 28, 2010, troopers investigated a theft that occurred at the Radio Shack store, SR209, Brodheadsville, in the West End Plaza. A white male entered the store and walked out with a motion sensor when the store employees were not looking. The man removed the sensor from the original location in the store and placed it on a shelf near the entry/exit door.

A Pike County man is facing criminal charges in Monroe County.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said they received a complaint of access device fraud from the Kmart store in Mt. Pocono.

Through an investigation police determined the suspect was Joshua Huether, 20, of Greentown.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Huether and served it on him at his place of employment in Pocono Pines on Monday, March 14. He was arraigned before District Judge Anthony D. Fluegel, of Tobyhanna, and released on $2,500 unsecured bail on a charge of access device fraud.

Nikki Bertollette, 20, of White Haven, is facing driving under the influence (DUI), possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, underage drinking, and numerous traffic violations after being stopped by Rush Township police in the area of Plaza Drive and Tide Road on March 13 at 6:11a.m.

Bertollette was taken back to the police station for a breath test. The test results were a .054 percent.

In addition, Ashley Valenia, 22, of Freeland, is facing a charge of furnishing liquor or brewed beverages to minors, police said.

Lehighton police reported on the following arrests made by officers.

Police said Richard Hartranft, 45, of Lehighton, was cited for public drunkenness and a violation of the borough code prohibiting the consumption of alcohol in public. The incident occurred on Sunday, March 13, about 7:55 p.m. in the vicinity of the 500 block of N. First St., police said.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a vandalism incident at a Schuylkill County church.

Troopers said unknown persons pushed over a marble tombstone on the property of Manbeck's Evangelical Congregational Church, in Washington Township. The tombstone, valued at $3,000, sustained damages, troopers added.

The incident occurred sometime between March 9-11.
