Jim Thorpe Touchdown Club will hold its monthly meeting Monday, March 14 at 6 p.m. in the commons area of the Jim Thorpe Area High School. All parents of seventh and eighth grade, junior high and high school football players are invited to participate. The Touchdown Club is the fundraising club for the football program. Bereavement Group

The last meeting for this session of the bereavement support group, sponsored by St. Joseph's parish will be held on Saturday, March 5, beginning at 11 a.m.

The meeting will be held in the rectory.

Bloodmobile

The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be stationed at Memorial Hall on Wednesday, March 9, from 1 to 6 p.m. Donors must be 17 years of age and older.

A meeting of the parents of the Class of 2011 at Jim Thorpe Area High School to plan the all-night graduation party will be held Thursday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. in the high school commons.

An organizational meeting will be held on Monday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, North Street, for the upcoming Captive Free event. Volunteers are needed with this event and if you are interested or need more information call Kathy at (570) 325-2282.

Class reunion planning

A meeting will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Terpestras (Gerbers), for anyone who graduated in the following classes from Jim Thorpe High School: 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, and 1979.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. and will be the planning stage for the joint class reunion. Everyone for the aforementioned classes is invited to attend and help in the planning.

Special Story Time for children

On Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 10 a.m. there will be a special Story Time at Dimmick Memorial Library in Jim Thorpe.

The Jim Thorpe Fire Department has free smoke detectors for Jim Thorpe borough residents. If you need a smoke detector please contact Fire Chief Bill Diehm at (570) 325-3890. No commercial properties please.
