The Mahoning Lions Egg hunt will be held tonight due to the rainy weather over the weekend. It will take place at 6 p.m. at the Mahoning Valley Ambulance on Mill Road. It is open to children 10 and under.

WP softball

The West Penn Athletic/Softball Association will host the Aquafina Pitch Hit and Run Competition on April 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the West Penn Park.

The competition is open to all boys and girls between the ages of 7-14. Participation is free and birth certificates are required for proof of age.

Dog walk

The Tamaqua Area Animal Rescue group will host its Fourth Annual Dog Walk on May 7, following along the Schuylkill Valley Heritage Trail.

The Borough of Lansford will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, April 26, at 6:30pm for general purposes. The Municipal Administration Meeting will be held thereafter. The meetings will be held at the Community Center, 1 West Ridge St and is open to the general public.

The 61st Annual Tamaqua Area Community Dinner, and presentation of the 48th annual Citizen of the Year Award, will be held this Wednesday, April 27, at the Tamaqua Community Center, 223 Center St. Cash bar will be open from 6 to 7 p.m., with dinner to be served at 7 p.m.

This year, the annual award was renamed the Joseph M. Plasko Memorial Citizenship Award. It will be presented to Andrew Leibenguth. The dinner is sponsored by the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce and TIDE.

The Borough Secretary will hold special office hours on Saturday, April 30th from 10 am until noon for property owners to pay their garbage bills.

Payments received after 5/1 are subject to a 10 percent penalty. Residents are also encouraged to set up a payment plan during this time if they can not make a payment in full.

Egg hunt

The Diligent Fire Company, Center Ave., will host it's 64th annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 23, starting at 1 p.m. The event will be held on the company grounds and is open to children up to the age of 10.

Easter Services

St. John's Lutheran Church, 6th and North streets, will hold a Holy communion service at 9 a.m.

Ebenezer E.C. Church, 441 Center Ave., will hold an Easter sunrise service at 7 a.m. with Holy communion to follow. Another service will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Summit Hill

St. Joseph Church

Allentown Diocese Bishop John Barres will preside at the 11 a.m. Mass on Easter Sunday, April 24, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill.

After the liturgy, the bishop will be on hand for the parish's annual Easter egg hunt which will be held in the grounds of the church.

Other Masses on Easter Sunday will be celebrated at 7 and 9 a.m.

The annual Easter vigil will take place on Saturday, April 23, at 8 p.m.

Easter Egg Hunt

St. Matthew's UCC of Kunkletown will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 23 at 2 p.m. in the picnic grove, weather permitting.

If weather does not permit, then it will be held in the church's social hall.

If you would like to donate hard-boiled colored Easter eggs or filled plastic eggs for the egg hunt, please drop them off at the church by noon Saturday, April 23.

The Sunday School will hold program practice at 1 p.m., before the egg hunt.

Kid's Party Club

The Kid's Party Club will be held at People's E.C. Church, 206 Wagner St., Lehighton, on Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. until noon. Children attending will be told a Bible story, sing songs, play games, do a craft and have a snack.

All children ages 5-12 are welcome to attend this free event.
