Ashley Zigmant and Dante Martire

Mr. and Mrs. James Zigmant of Hometown have announced the engagement of their daughter, Ashley, to Dante Martire of Cranberry.

The bride-elect is a cum laude graduate of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia with a doctor of pharmacy degree.

She is employed by Giant Pharmacy in Allentown.

Her fiance is a graduate of Temple University, where he earned a degree in chemistry.

He also graduated from Coordinated Health, Bethlehem, as a certified orthopedic technician.

The couple is planning a fall 2011 wedding.

Stephen Nesgoda and Sarah Swankoski

The parents of Sarah Swankoski and Stephen Nesgoda have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Ray and Patty Swankoski of Coaldale. She is also the granddaughter of Joseph and Peggy Rebarchak of Hazel Township and Irene and the late Raymond Swankoski of Hazleton. She is a 2006 graduate of Marian Catholic High School and a 2010 graduate of Misericordia University, where she received a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital in Bethlehem.

Madelyn Elizabeth Minnich

A daughter, Madelyn Elizabeth Minnich, was born at 4:19 p.m. on June 25, 2010 at Lehigh Valley Hospital to April Rehrig and Matthew Minnich of Lehighton. She weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and measured 20 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Cheryl Miller and Todd Rehrig, both of Lehighton.

Paternal grandparents are Michael and Maryann Minnich, also of Lehighton.

Christine Knoblauch and Christopher Hall

Mr. and Mrs. James Knoblauch of Winter Park, Fla., and formerly of Tamaqua and Alburtis, Pa., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Christine of Glendale, Calif., to Christopher Hall, also of Glendale.

The bride-to-be is a 1999 graduate of Central Catholic High School and a 2003 graduate of Boston University, where she received a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Boran III

Plains United Methodist Church, Plains, was the setting for the May 15 wedding of Rebecca Marie Milligan of Plains and Donald Boran III of Tamaqua. The double ring ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Paul Amarra. Jack Psolka was the organist.

The bride is the daughter of Theresa Milligan of Plains and the late Richard Milligan, who passed away May 12, 2010.

A son, Jesse Michael Ellis, was born at 3:45 a.m. on July 29, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown, to Amy and Richard Ellis of Nesquehoning.

He weighed 7 pounds and measured 21 inches long.

Jesse was welcomed home by his three siblings: 9 1/2-year-old Nicholas, 7 1/2-half-year old Anthony and 5-year old Jacob.

Maternal grandparents are Francis and Judith Galgoci of Jim Thorpe.

Paternal grandparents are Norman and Lynne Ellis of Jim Thorpe.

The 31st annual reunion of the descendants of George and Lillie (Eaches) Walck will be held Sunday, Aug. 22 at the Bowmanstown Rod and Gun Club, beginning at 11 a.m.

The business meeting will be held at 1 p.m.

There will be a talent show this year so family members are asked to bring their voice, instrument, or whatever talent they have to share.

Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish or dessert and an item for the Chinese Auction or cake walk.

Mr. and Mrs. Maurice "Marty" Kunkel

Mr. and Mrs. Maurice "Marty" Kunkel of Weatherly celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 12.

The couple was married in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, White Haven, by the late Rev. William Geiger.

Members of their wedding party were Mary (Avilla) Carter, matron of honor; Marjorie Lou (Kocher) Anthony, and the late Nancy (Ely) Luppold, bridesmaids. The late Clyde Kunkel was best man and ushers were the late Charles Gicking and William Kunkel.
