Daniel Serfass and Sonya Mosteller

Joseph and Clara Reuther of Lehighton, along with Donald and Vicky Serfass of Kunkletown, have announced the engagement of their children, Sonya M. Mosteller and Daniel M. Serfass.

The bride-to-be is a 2007 graduate of Palmerton Area High School and attended Lehigh Carbon Community College.

She is currently employed at Country Junction.

The prospective bridegroom is a 2002 Pleasant Valley High School graduate.

He is currently employed by New England Motor Freight in Lehighton. He also helps with the family farm.

No wedding date has been set.

Christina Kanick and Anthony Donadi

The parents of Christina Kanick of Summit Hill and Anthony Donadi of Sugarloaf have announced the couple's engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Edward and Regina Kanick of Summit Hill. She is a graduate of Marian Catholic High School and the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering. Recently, she received a master's degree in applied economics from Johns Hopkins University. She is employed as a cost and risk analyst for TASC Inc., based in Chantilly, Va.

The Hazleton Fibromyalgia Support Group will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Faith United Church of Christ, Hazleton.

Guest speaker will be Dr. Jan McGovern, chiropractor and practitioner of reconnective therapy.

This group is open to patients with fibromyalgia or other autoimmune disorders, family, friends and caregivers.

The Frable-Fravel family is having an 80th reunion celebration on Aug. 8 at St. Matthew's UCC Church picnic grove in Kunkletown.

The family picture will be taken by Lynn Photography at 1 p.m. Jeff Frable will be the DJ for the day. Food will be served by Layman's Fellowship. Linda Holliday, ventriloquist and magician will entertain, along with Zoreka, who will do face painting and balloon animals. There will be a cakewalk, Chinese Auction and bingo. Please bring cakes, fruits and vegetables for the cakewalk, and a gift (new or slightly used) for the Chinese Auction.

Denise Gail Chickilly, daughter of Robert and Gail Chickilly of Nesquehoning, became the bride of Shawn Joseph Kennedy, son of Sandra Kennedy of Nesquehoning and the late Edward Kennedy Sr., on May 22, 2010 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Nesquehoning. The Rev. Anthony Drouncheck at officiated the double ring ceremony. Robert Ames was the organist and Nathan Halenar was the vocalist.

Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Collura

Kaitlin Reilly and Nicholas Collura were united in marriage on May 30, 2010 at The Lake House Inn in Perkasie. The Honorable Judge Roger N. Nanovic II officiated the evening ceremony.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael J. Reilly Sr. of Jim Thorpe. She chose Victoria Rowlands, of Jim Thorpe to serve as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Katelyn Damian of Nesquehoning, sister of the bridegroom; Laura Hawley of Long Island; Janet Saunders of Charleston; and Jennifer Hicks of Conshohocken, cousin of the bride.

Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Sparich on their wedding day.

Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Sparich of Lehighton, formerly of Nesquehoning, recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

They were married on July 1, 1950 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Nesquehoning.

Mrs. Sparich is the former Maria Dardas, daughter of the late Magdalene and Ernest Dardas of Lansford.

Mr. Sparich is the son of the late Anna and Michael Sparich of Nesquehoning.

The couple has three children: Nicholas Jr., Ernest and Christina.

Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Snoha

Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Snoha, 330 W. Ludlow St., Summit Hill, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 21.

They were married in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, by the late Rev. Msgr. J. Francis Haley.

A Mass was held in their honor on June 19 in St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. James Burdess, pastor, officiating, assisted by Deacon Skip La Police. The Snohas' four grandchildren offered the readings and three other grandchildren presented the offertory gifts.

Mrs. Snoha is the former Louise Cusanelli of Summit Hill.

Austin Cole Vogelei

A son, Austin Cole Vogelei, was born at 12:38 p.m. on May 18, 2010 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest to Kara and Harry Vogelei of Barto, Pa.

He weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces and measured 19 inches long.

The new baby was welcomed home by his older siblings, Kaydance, 5, and Dallas, 3.

Maternal grandparents are Jeff George and Carolyn Smiley of Palmerton.

Paternal grandparents are Harry and Regina Vogelei of Pottstown.

Maternal great-grandparents are Robert Weaver of Nesquehoning, and Kenneth and Loretta George of Palmerton.
