New Year’s Eve dance party at opera house with Brett Andrew & Soul Town

Talk about a band that can simply get down. Each member of Soul Town is an ace at what they do.

Led by charismatic artist and multi-instrumentalist Brett Andrew, at 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve Soul Town will deliver a rockin’ funky good time. As a sincere “thank you” to the visitors and residents of the community of Jim Thorpe, tickets are being offered at a reduced rate.

Andrew cut his teeth as a guitarist and vocalist throughout regional venues in the northeast while honing his skills as a studio engineer, producer, and entrepreneur. He was adopted into Robert Randolph’s Family Band and spent five years sharing the stage with some of the greatest musicians and entertainers out there.

From studio sessions to international tours and the late-night shows — you could almost say he’s done it all. Now, Andrew has brought together a band of his own, which includes Christie and Vincent DeGiosio, two of the producers at the Mauch Chunk Opera House and seasoned regional performers themselves, serving up a cocktail of original music and select covers with a base of soul, a splash of funk and a healthy dose of rock ’n’ roll.

Tickets are available 24/7 on the opera house website at www.mcohjt.com, by visiting Soundcheck Records in downtown Jim Thorpe or by calling 570-325-4009.

The opera house box office is open from noon to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at 570-325-0249. The venue is open from noon until 5 p.m. on show days.

The opera house is located at 14 W. Broadway in Jim Thorpe.
