Pocono Mountain Regional police reported investigating an accidental shooting incident on Wednesday in the parking lot of the Walmart store in Mount Pocono.

Police said at 3:04 p.m. they were dispatched, along with a medical unit, to the parking lot of the store. They were advised by the Monroe County Communications Center that a man had called 911 and said he had shot himself in the leg and that he was in a vehicle in the lot.Officers arrived on scene within six minutes and located the man, a 62-year-old from Pocono Summit.Police secured the weapon and applied a tourniquet to the man's leg. A EMS unit then arrived on scene and transported the male to a local hospital.Police said they are considering the incident as accidental and no criminal charges are pending.
