Keystone Harley plans new location

The owner of Keystone Harley-Davidson is planning a new location in the Lehigh Valley.

But it is too early to determine whether it will be an expansion or replacement for the dealership in Parryville. Bob Eggstein, Keystone’s owner and dealer said it could be up to two years before that decision is made.“We’re not going anywhere,” he said.Eggstein recently appeared before a zoning hearing board in Whitehall Township. He said that the plans for the Lehigh Valley dealership have been in the works a little longer. The Lehigh Valley location is closer to a larger population. The last Harley dealership in the valley closed in 2011.“That left kind of a hole in the Lehigh Valley. Customers are going in all directions,” Eggstein said.Eggstein purchased the former Blocker Harley-Davidson around that same time. The 50,000-square foot modern dealership has become a “destination” for riders from around the region, in part because of the area’s great riding roads.Eggstein said that many customers from the Lehigh Valley have come to Parryville, but by opening a location in the valley itself, they will be more accessible.“A lot of customers come up here for sales and service. The proximity for us, if we’re closer to them — it’s a better ownership experience for the customer,” he said. The ultimate decision on the Parryville dealership will come down to state franchise laws, and the “Motor Company,” as die-hard fans refer to the brand’s leadership.Eggstein said that the dealership will still be offering monthly rides for owners and members of the local Harley Owners’ Group, starting in April.“We hope to have more information about the relocation in the next couple months,” Eggstein said.
