Slatington library holds fundraiser

The Slatington Public Library's annual Chinese auction was held at the Diamond Fire Company social hall on Sept. 23. More than 200 prizes were awarded. Disney passes, Blue Mountain gift certificates, Iron Pigs 2017, tickets, and a handmade child's rocker were part of a special raffle. Three lucky attendees received cash by winning the 50/50 raffle. Mike Peters was the musical entertainment for the evening.

The auction is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the Slatington library, and it would not have been possible without the generous donations of the public and the teamwork of the event volunteers and all who attended.The Slatington Public Library is pleased to announce its fall schedule of events.• Paul Martin, a local poet, will be reading from his works on Mondayat the library.• The library will be selling books, soft pretzels, popcorn and water at Walnutport's Canal Days on Oct. 16.• The preschool story hour begins Oct. 18 and will continue every Tuesday until Nov. 22.Please contact the library at 610-767-6461 or
