Jim Thorpe starts school Thursday

Jim Thorpe will be starting the school year Thursday.

The high school will open at 7:40 a.m. for breakfast. All students should be in the building by 7:50, and ready for classes to begin at 8 a.m. Parent pick-up starts at 3 p.m., with bus departure at 3:05.L.B. Morris will open at 8:15 a.m. for breakfast. All students should be in the building by 8:30, and ready for classes to begin at 8:45 a.m. Parent pick-up starts at 3:15 p.m., with bus departure at 3:25.Penn-Kidder will open at 8:05 a.m. for breakfast. All students should be in the building by 8:30, and ready for classes to begin at 8:35 a.m. Parent pick-up starts at 3:18 p.m., with bus departure at 3:35.Each school stresses that students are not to be dropped off in the employee parking area, and that parents should arrive for pick-up five minutes before dismissal. Bus schedules are available on the district's website.The high school will offer lunches at full price for $2.60, with L.B. Morris and Penn Kidder charging $2.35. All three schools offer reduced lunch for 40 cents, adult lunch for $3.25, full price breakfast for $1.25, and reduced breakfast for 30 cents.Parents and students are reminded that the dress code must be followed by all students. Collared shirts are to be worn every day, with solid colors of navy blue, royal blue, traditional red, black, or white. Casual, dress or corduroy pants in solid navy blue, black, or khaki (beige/tan) are required. Shoes, including sneakers, must be predominantly white, gray, blue, black, red, or brown.
