Pleasant Valley's girls soccer and volleyball teams both picked up season-opening wins on Friday. Other area winners included the Northern Lehigh girls soccer team and the Northwestern boys soccer squad.

Both of those goals were assisted by Emma Sawyer.But the Indians' hopes for a season-opening victory were dashed when Dallas' Sam Banks tallied her second goal of the game with just 3:33 remaining.Both teams had nine shots on goals. The Indians enjoyed a 9-2 advantage in corners.
