NEUROLOGIC SUPPORT GROUP

A Neurologic Support Group for survivors and families or friends of neurologic diseases like multiple sclerosis, parkinson's or stroke will be held at St. Luke's Hospital Miners Campus from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. each Friday in the community room of the hospital, located at 360 W. Ruddle St., in Coaldale.

The group meets regularly to socialize and learn how to deal with problems related to the neurologic diseases. By emphasizing what can be done rather than what can't be done, it may give new hope and insight to those involved.Goals include education, such as learning about stroke, its causes and effects; increasing self-help, problem-solving and prevention; and providing a resource to new stroke victims and their families. The group offers encouragement regarding mutual problems and accomplishments and enhances individual dignity and self-worth. It also helps reduce feelings of isolation and integration into social situations. For more information, call 570-645-8385.
