One injured when rock hits vehicle

A Susquehanna County man was injured when someone threw a rock at the vehicle he was a passenger in. The rock crashed through the windshield and struck him in the chest. State police at the Pocono barracks said the incident occurred along the northeast extension of the turnpike in Abington Township, Lackawanna County, on Sunday.

Troopers said Peter Koerner, 60, of Clifford, Susquehanna County, was driving a 2008 Nissan Frontier pickup northbound when a large rock was thrown through the front windshield. The rock struck Joshua Stoddart, 20, of South Gibson, in the chest. After impact Koerner continued north, exited at Clarks Summit and took Stoddart to the Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton for treatment.
