Edward T. and Helen C. Marzen of Lehighton recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

They were married on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, 1950, at Immaculate Conception Church in Jim Thorpe by the Rev. John Engler.Helen is the daughter of the late Hugo and Caroline Roos of Jim Thorpe. Edward is the son of the late John and Amelia Marzen, also of Jim Thorpe.The Marzens have six children: Edward Marzen and his wife, Cathy, of Andreas; Michael Marzen and his wife, Mary, of Jim Thorpe; Barbara Swierczek, and her husband, Stan, of Bangor, Maine; John Marzen and his wife, Bernadette, of Lehighton; Carl Marzen and his wife, Mary, of Lehighton; and Diane Figueroa, and her fiancé, Brian Falcaro, of Allentown.Edward was the co-owner of Marzen Feed and Hardware in Lehighton for many years.Helen worked as a registered nurse for many years until her retirement.The couple celebrated with a family party in their honor, and received a special blessing from the Rev. Mike Ahrensfield during Thanksgiving Mass.
