Thomas K. Thomas Jr., 77, funeral director and volunteer

Thomas K. Thomas Jr., of Palmerton, a longtime funeral director and volunteer for community causes, has died. He was 77.

Thomas ran the T.K. Thomas Funeral Home in Palmerton with his wife Carol for 38 years, and was a licensed funeral director for 50.

He served his country in the Army National Guard and his community as past president and secretary of the Palmerton Exchange Club, past president of the Palmerton Lions Club, and past chairman of the Carbon County Heart Fund drive.

Tom was a member of First United Church of Christ, Palmerton, where he was a former vice-president of church council. He also held a 32nd degree in the Scottish Rite of Free and Accepted Masons, and was a brother in Lodge 440, Slatington.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 30 at T.K. Thomas Funeral Home, 145 Delaware Ave, Palmerton.

Call hours are 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 29, and 10-11:00 a.m. Monday.
