Theft incidents investigated

State police at Lehighton are investigating two theft from vehicle incidents.

Troopers said on Nov. 1 a 23-year-old woman from Weissport, reported she was in her vehicle along Bridge Street when she exited leaving her purse and wallet in the vehicle. The suspects in the case were in the vehicle, troopers said, and when she left they took her wallet out of the purse without her knowledge. The suspects later used the victim’s credit card to make multiple purchases. The purchases totaled $800 and the wallet is valued at $50.

A 43-year-old man from White Street, Weissport, reported checks were stolen from his vehicle. Later the suspect forged the victim’s name on the checks and proceeded to cash them for $250. The incident was reported on Nov. 16.
