Two face drug charges

What started as a bad check incident in Tamaqua on Monday ended with two people facing drug charges.

Police were called to Boyer's Food Market, 210 Cedar St., at 3:42 p.m. when employees said they detained two people who attempted to cash a bad check.On scene officers found Aimee Dianne Gamble, 26, of Ulysses, Potter County, and Ryan Verbitsky, 23, of Kingston, Luzerne County, detained in the office. Gamble held three glassine bags filled with a powdery substance in her hand. Officers also found a syringe which had fallen through a hole in the leg of her jeans and three empty baggies.She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.Verbitsky had a clear glass pipe with burnt residue in his front pocket. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
