Palmerton man faces theft charges

A Palmerton man with no known address faces theft and related charges.

John Vacaro, 35, was charged after an incident at 6:43 p.m. July 17.According to a criminal complaint filed by patrolman Trevor Flexer, here's what happened:Flexer was called to 404 Fourth St. on a report of a theft that had happened the previous day. Shaun Capwell told the officer his mother had let Vacaro stay at the house as of July 1. On July 16, Capwell told Flexer, Vacaro came to the house high, and his mother told Vacaro he had to leave.Vacaro moved out at 11 a.m. July 16 while Capwell's mother was at work.Capwell said he came home from work later that day to find several items missing from the room in which Vacaro was staying.They included a black Martin guitar, a PlayStation 3, three controllers, and some games.At 7:40 p.m., Flexer spoke again with Capwell, who said he was at Prodigy Studios, at 306 Delaware Ave., and that his guitar was there.Flexer went to the store and spoke with the owner, who showed him the guitar. Capwell identified it as his. The store owner gave Flexer the identification of the man who sold him the guitar. The information, including a driver's license, identified the seller as Vacaro.Vacaro doesn't have a listed phone number. Flexer spoke with Vacaro's mother, who said she has no contact with him and did not have his phone number.
