Driver, passenger face charges

State police at the Lehighton barracks said two people are facing charges as a result of a stop they made for traffic/equipment violations at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Route 209 and Fairgrounds Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said a 19-year-old man from Kunkletown, who was driving the vehicle, showed signs of impairment and was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. He was transported to the Monroe County DUI Processing Center and later released.A passenger, a 19-year-old man from Brodheadsville, was charged with possession of marijuana and later released.
