Pay increases OK'd through 2018

The Chestnuthill Township supervisors this week approved an extension of a Memorandum of Agreement with Local 773 for union employees.

Employees will continue to receive a 2 percent wage increase in 2016, 2017 and 2018.In 2019 and 2020 there will be a wage opener and insurance discussion.The board voted 3-0 to approve the agreement.Supervisors also agreed to hire a Class 4 mechanic and to advertise for a data coordinator position.Bernie Kozen, executive director of West End Park and Open Space Commission, reported to the supervisors that the following classes are held at the Chestnuthill Township Park building: Zumba, 6 p.m. Tuesdays; Ripped, 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays; Yoga, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesdays; PiYo exercise class, 6-7 p.m. Thursdays.There will be a Get Outdoors Pennsylvania Hike at the Regional Park at 1 p.m. Saturday and bingo at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 16.
