Nesquehoning woman faces drug charges

Nesquehoning police have charged Susan Karley, 49, with numerous drug charges, including unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, unlawful delivery or manufacture, and criminal use of a communication facility.

She was arraigned before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek, Lansford, and jailed under $5,000 cash bail. The offenses happened Sept. 8 through Sept. 12, 2014, with charges filed in December, according to a recent police report.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Police Chief Sean Smith, here's what happened:Smith arranged to have a confidential informant, supervised by officers Carl Breiner and Timothy Wuttke, meet with Karley in the borough to make a controlled buy of illegal substances. Karley agreed to sell the informant five hydrocodone pills at $5 per pill, and 30 morphine pills at $20 per pill. The informant bought two hydrocodone pills and one morphine pill from Karley.
