Snow, sleet, freezing rain Saturday

A period snow and sleet Saturday afternoon should quickly change to a period of freezing rain by early Saturday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The precipitation is expcted to change to plain rain Saturday night as temperatures gradually rise.

While the snow and ice accumulations are expected to be light, hazardous travel may develop by Saturday evening.

This Afternoon: Mostly sunny, with a high near 38. West wind 7 to 10 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 22. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: Snow likely, possibly mixed with sleet before 4pm, then periods of rain, possibly mixed with sleet between 4pm and 5pm, then periods of snow, possibly mixed with sleet after 5pm. High near 34. Light east wind becoming southeast 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Saturday Night: Periods of freezing rain before 9pm, then periods of rain or freezing rain between 9pm and 11pm, then periods of rain after 11pm. Low around 31. Southeast wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no ice accumulation expected.

Sunday: Periods of rain before noon, then scattered showers after noon. High near 51. South wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
