Beltzville Lions offer free seminar

For those wondering about the changing health care requirements for hospital, doctor, prescriptions, home health care and long-term care needs, a free Medicare workshop will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 1 at SS. Peter and Paul School Hall, 307 Coal St., Lehighton. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

The program is to help people entering Medicare for the first time, and their caregivers, to better understand this comprehensive health care program. The program will conclude with a question-and-answer period. Free refreshments will be served.The program will be presented by The Assurance Group and is sponsored by the Beltzville Lions Club.This seminar is open to anyone who is interested in learning about the changes in store for you next year.Some of the topics to be discussed include:• Find out the ABCs of Medicare• What are parts A, B, C, D including hospital care, physician and lab work and prescription drug coverage?• Part D prescription drug benefits and how to avoid the doughnut hole• Original Medicare or Medicare Advantage, which is best for you?• How to protect your assets from unexpected illness and nursing home costs.• How to maximize the interest on your Social Security Income or other money.• Find out about how Medicare is here to provide for your health care.RSVP to Gail Maholick at 610-377-5559.
