SCFCA All Star game postponed

The Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association All-Star Game has been postponed again.

The contest, which was originally scheduled for Wednesday and then moved to Friday because of the snow storm earlier this week, has now been moved to Sunday Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. The game will still be played at Rotary Field in Schuylkill Haven.

Schuylkill Haven football coach Mike Farr made the announcement Friday morning, citing player safety due to the amount of snow and ice on the field. Farr also said that if the field conditions haven't improved by Sunday, the game will have to be moved to late spring/early summer due to the start of winter sport schedules.

Twenty players from the Times News coverage area will take part in the game.

All the area players will be part of the North team that is comprised of players from Jim Thorpe, Lehighton, Marian, Mahanoy Area, North Schuylkill, Panther Valley, Shenandoah and Tamaqua. The South team is made up of players from Tri-Valley, Williams Valley, Blue Mountain, Pottsville, Pine Grove, Nativity, Minersville and Schuylkill Haven.
