Retail theft arrests reported

State police at Fern Ridge reported on two retail theft arrests made recently by troopers.

Michelle Green of Kunkletown was cited at 11:17 a.m. April 21 at the Dollar General Store, located along Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.Troopers said Green entered the store with empty shopping bags. She walked throughout the store placing items into the bags and a store shopping cart. She then approached the cash registry area and paid for four bottles of bleach, a container of baking soda and then attempted to leave with 111 unpaid items totaling $241 in value.She was stopped and detained by the store manager until troopers arrived.The second person cited was Pamela L. Green, 54, of Palmerton, at Kinsley's Shop Rite, located along Weir Lake Road, in Chestnuthill Township, at 5:04 p.m. April 23.Troopers said Green removed items from the store without paying and placed them in her vehicle. The items taken consisted of groceries totaling $500.02. The entire incident was recorded on the store's surveillance cameras, troopers said.
