Pleasant Valley Youth Association holds free Lacrosse play day

The Commissioners of the PVYA Lacrosse Programs for both boys and girls will be hosting LAX-Fest, an event from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Sunday, March 30, at the Pocono Dome in Sciota. The event is a fun day for co-ed play to kick off the spring season.

There will be Lacrosse games, relay races, raffles and entertainment throughout the day.The programs serve youth from the age of 5-15 in the Pleasant Valley area. The girls lacrosse program has nearly quadrupled within just a few years and is now one of the largest sports in the area.Just a few weeks ago, the commissioner of the girls' program, Toni Bush, gained approval from the Pleasant Valley School Board to bring the program for boys and girls beyond the age of 15 into the high school. In bringing the program to PVSD, this will allow the program to continue for the students and afford them the opportunity of obtaining college scholarships.LAX-Fest is not a fundraising event but rather a fun day of play for participants and spectators to build camaraderie and excitement for the season. For additional information, contact Karen Clark, PVYA Girls Lacrosse fundraising chairwoman at 570-236-1831.
