Pothole patching

Motorists traveling north on Mauch Chunk Street in Tamaqua could have been mistaken for inebriated drivers over the past few months, swerving back and forth to avoid the hodgepodge of potholesdecorating the street. Some of the potholes are so deep you cansee the original brick paving. But relief is on the way, as thePennsylvania Department of Transportation will begin milling and repaving the worst parts of the street. The work is scheduledto begin on June 26, weather permitting, according to TamaquaBorough Manager Kevin Steigerwalt. Motorists are warned to expect traffic delays for at least two days.
