On Monday evening as David Hiles of Summit Hill was checking one of his properties in the borough at the corner of Pine and White streets, he found something that he couldn't believe.

One of his small American flags was pulled from the ground and what appeared to be human excrement was on it.The property has a greenhouse and small fish pond on it. Hiles said that he checks the property every morning and evening, and didn't see anything at 7:30 in the morning."Parents in the area bring their children to the pond to feed the fish, and this sicko did this right next to the pond," Hiles said.His wife Lisa said, "It was disgusting, hard to look at."Hiles didn't contact the police because he figured they had more important things to worry about, but hopes that somebody in the area saw something."If anyone saw anybody at the property, or even if they see someone acting suspicious in the future, we hope that they'll call the office at 570-645-8405."
