Palmerton Area School District has hired several professionals to fill out its education ranks.

By a unanimous vote, the school board on Tuesday agreed to hire a pair of guidance counselors, a Life Skills instructor and three elementary teachers.Christine DeLong was hired as the Life Skills teacher for grades 7-10 at the high school, Bachelors Step 1, at the rate of $38,319, effective Aug. 11.Meanwhile, Briel Rhoads was tabbed as a high-school guidance counselor, Masters Step 2, at the rate of $41,171, effective Aug. 11, 2014, while Kristina Manning was hired as an elementary guidance counselor at S.S. Palmer and Parkside Education Center, Masters Step 2, at the rate of $41,171, effective Aug. 11.On the teachers front, Erin Parsons was hired as an elementary teacher at S.S. Palmer Elementary, Bachelors Step 1, at the rate of $38, 319, effective Aug. 11; Amber Kistler as an elementary teacher at S.S.
