PVMS Builders Club donations

Pleasant Valley Middle School's Builders Club collected donations from students, staff and community to help out some of the community's less fortunate this holiday season. They collected food items (over 1,000 cans), paper products, personal hygiene and cleaning

products, blankets, coats, mittens, and used camping equipment, then divided everything up to donate the items to three local organizations, Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network, Valor Clinic and the Monroe County Homeless Initiative. The Builders Club is a service club under the direction of faculty adviser Kathy Dekmar. "We're all about teaching the kids to do the right thing for the right reasons," Dekmar said. "We're building bridges of kindness andgiving." Seventh- and eighth-grade students, from left, Sierra Johnson, Madison Giedemann, Kaily Mayer, Alexizs Defluri, Herbert Ortiz, Kathy Dekmar, Jamie Brink and Soukana Rezqui help load items to be delivered to the PVEN.
