Longtime member honored

Carbon County Planning Commission honored one of its own.

On Tuesday, the commission approved a resolution honoring Ted M. Nagle, who resigned from his post on Oct. 21.Nagle had served as a member of the commission since March 16, 1999, and most recently held the position of secretary."During his term, Ted M. Nagle has served faithfully in a concerned and active manner and ... has been an outstanding and responsible member of the Carbon County Planning Commission," the resolution states.In other matters, the commission acted on three proposed subdivision plans, giving the green light on two; while rejecting one.• Uwe and Siegfried Pohle received conditional plan rejection for a proposed subdivision at 46 Short Road, Penn Forest Township. The plans call for combining two lots to create a new tax parcel.Ivan O. Meixell Jr., county planner, said during his review that the plans have several areas of noncompliance with the Penn Forest Township Land Development Ordinances.• Donald H. Dorward Sr., whose plan went before the board two times earlier this year, received conditional plan approval for a subdivision near the intersection of Rock Street in Franklin Township.• John E. and Lynn Warda and Thomas J. Lachette received conditional plan approval for a proposed subdivision along River Road in Kidder Township. The plans call for subdividing a 0.3-acre lot off the Warda property and combining it with a 0.15-acre lot owned by Lachette to create a new 0.45-acre plot.
