An alleged threat last week in the Palmerton Area School District through social media remains under investigation.
State Police at Lehighton said this morning no new information is available on the incident they have been investigating since last Friday.
Efforts to reach Superintendent Scot Engler for an update were unsuccessful today.
On Friday, Engler said the alleged threats all occurred outside of school hours.
Engler said at that time the district, as well as state police, were aware of alleged threats being distributed via the Internet.
He added that state police are expected to resolve those concerns in the very near future.
Because of the investigation, Engler said at that time he could not release specifics about the nature of the threat or the social media platform used.
A parent of one of the children targeted, who wished to remain anonymous, said today the threat was aimed at a small group of sixth graders at Towamensing Elementary School.
Engler said he contacted parents of children who are affected.
