Tigers, Olympians have strong meets

The Northwestern and Jim Thorpe cross country teams turned in strong performances to highlight Wednesday's scholastic schedule.

CROSS COUNTRYNorthwestern-Palmerton-Bangor-NDGP-So. Lehigh-NDES-Moravian Academy-Palisades-Saucon ValleyThe Northwestern girls went 6-0 in a Colonial League cluster meet. The Tiger boys went 5-1, losing only to undefeated Bangor.Palmerton boys went 1-5 at the meet, while the Blue Bomber girls team was 0-6.The Tigers Haley Yost finished second in the girls meet, behind Saucon Valley's Liz Chakotas. Christian Fields and Jake Saxon took second and third, respectively.In the girls meet, Jim Thorpe defeated Pine Grove 24-36 and cruised past CMVT 15-50.
