First-time offenders get probation

Schuylkill County District Attorney Karen Byrnes Noon has qualified several first-time offenders to be admitted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition probation program.

Senior Judge D. Michael Stine admitted them into the program with conditions. Each defendant must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program. All were placed in the program for a year, unless otherwise noted.Martin B. Borosh, 29, of Pottsville, formerly of Tamaqua, was charged with criminal conspiracy and receiving stolen jewelry belonging to Sharon Keich, Tamaqua. He was assessed $450, must pay $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, perform 10 hours of community service, and make restitution of $1,500 to Brethren Mutual Insurance Company. Borosh was cited by Tamaqua patrolman Thomas Rodgers.Heather Amanda Fenstermacher, 26, of 308 Biddle St., Tamaqua, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. She was assessed $500, must pay $100 to the Substance Abuse Education fund, $50 to the Catastrophe fund, $50 to the CJEA, and $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center. She also must attend alcohol highway safety school, perform 10 hours of community service, and her driver's license was suspended for 30 days. She was cited by Rush Township patrolman Adam Sinton.Matthew Alexander Freiwald, 24, of 254 Cold Run Road, New Ringgold, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was assessed $500, and must pay $300 to the SAE fund, $50 to the Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, and $60 to Saint Joseph's Medical Center. he also must attend safety school, perform 10 hours of community service, and his driver's license was suspended for 60 days. Freiwald was cited by Trooper Rebecca R. Clatch when she stopped him on SR61 in West Brunswick Township.Christopher C. Jandrisevitz, 38, of 125 Penn St., Tamaqua, formerly of Coaldale, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was assessed $500, must pay $300 to the SAE fund, $50 to the Catastrophe fund, $50 to the CJEA, and $60 to SCM. He also must attend safety school, perform 10 hours of community service, and his driver's license was suspended 60 days. He was cited by Tamaqua patrolman Thomas Rodgers.Kim Karen Leary, 48, of 19 Main St., Middleport, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs. She was assessed $500, and must pay $100 to the SAE fund, $50 to the Catastrophe fund, $50 to the CJEA, and $542.67 to Health Network Laboratory. She also must attend safety school, receive outpatient counseling, perform 10 hours of community service, and her driver's license was suspended 60 days. Leary was cited by Trooper Michael D. Marinchak on SR209 in Walker Township.Arthur William McMahon, 24, Martinsville, N.J., was charged with forgery of a check, criminal attempt to commit theft and receiving stolen property. He was assessed $350, and must pay $50 to the CJEA, and perform 10 hours of community service. McMahon was cited by Tamaqua Cpl. Henry Woods.Robert O'Hazzo, 19, of 106 E. Blaine St., McAdoo, was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was assessed $350, and must pay $100 to the SAE fund, $50 to the CJEA, and perform 10 hours of community service. O'Hazzo was cited by McAdoo patrolman Steven Homanko.Curtis L. VanPelt, 63, of 216 Valley St., Brockton, Schuylkill Township, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was assessed $500, and must pay $300 to the SAE fund, $50 to the Catastrophe fund, $50 to the CJEA, and $60 to SMC. He also must attend safety school, receive outpatient counseling, perform 10 hours of community service, and his driver's license was suspended 60 days. VanPelt was cited by Rush patrolman Adam Sinton.Heather Ann Weicosckie, 40, of 134 Water St., New Philadelphia, was charged with two counts each of simple assault and disorderly conduct. She was assessed $350, and must pay $50 to the CJEA, and perform 10 hours of community service. On a charge of public drunkenness, she was fined $25 plus $50 costs. She was cited by New Philadelphia patrolman Jason A. Klouser.
