A Schuylkill County man is facing charges, including burglary, following an incident that occurred earlier this year.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Jarred Derck, 29, of Ashland, was arrested on Nov. 4 at the Northumberland County prison and charged in connection with a burglary that occurred on April 30 in Schuylkill County.
Troopers charged that Derck entered the home of Arlene Ellen Deibert, 81, of 23 Main St., Klingerstown, and removed various items. Taken in the break-in were U.S. currency, a digital camera, cell phone, various credit cards, a state driver's license, and a Mossberg shotgun.
The stolen credit cards were used the same day they were stolen at various gas stations in the Valley View and Gratz areas of the county.
Through the course of the investigation it was determined that Derck was responsible for the burglary and theft.
He was arraigned by on-call District Judge James Reiley, of Pottsville, with bail set at $25,000, 10 percent. He was returned to the Northumberland County prison following his arraignment, troopers said.
