Last week, Jim Thorpe Area High School held its 2013 Academic Athletic All-Star Ceremony in the high school auditorium.

At the start of the ceremony, Principal Thomas Lesisko addressed the students."I urge you to please take a moment to reflect on the award you received and the sponsor of that award. Some of our scholarships originate through businesses or community organizations that want to provide a boost to young people as they move into the next phase of their lives," Lesisko said."Many of the scholarships are in memory of accomplished people that graduated from JTAHS or schools of Mauch Chunk, East Mauch Chunk, and are no longer with us.
