Local woman killed skiing

A Jim Thorpe woman died Sunday in a skiing accident in Vermont, according to published reports.

The Killington Ski Patrol found the body of Jennifer Strohl, 21, at 4:45 p.m. about 10 feet off the Great Northern Trail at Killington Mountain. Her friends had reported her missing at 3 p.m.; they had not seen her since about 10:45 a.m. when she became separated from the group.Strohl had suffered head injuries as a result of a collision, and was not wearing a helmet, according to newspaper and television reports. Her death is not being considered suspicious.Attempts to reach Vermont state police who handled the matter were unsuccessful as of early Friday.
