Cedar Crest College Performing Arts has been presenting "About Face" in area middle schools during the month of April.
"About Face" is written by Cedar Crest professor and Performing Arts Chair Roxanne Amico and directed by Clair Freeman.
The subject of bullying, in particular cyber-bullying, is a growing problem among school-age children. Studies show that bullying tends to peak in late childhood/early adolescence, making prevention and intervention efforts in middle school crucial.
"About Face" aims to educate students in an accessible format about the effects bullying can have on peers.
"About Face" is being performed by Cedar Crest students for free at the following middle schools: Wind Gap Middle School, Pen Argyl; Northwestern Lehigh Middle School, New Tripoli; Weatherly Middle School, Weatherly; L.B. Morris Elementary, Jim Thorpe; and Easton Area Middle School, Easton.
In all, approximately 2,700 middle-school children and 130 teachers in will benefit from this presentation.
The cast for About Face includes Helene Milavsky, Audrey Graham, Allysa Clouse, Courtney Buecher and Bryanne Hornung. Technical support is provided by Kevin Gallagher and Sarah Brennan.
