Trinity happenings

Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, will celebrate First Saturday worship with holy communion at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 6. The Rev. Michael Frost, pastor at Zion's Stone Church, New Ringgold, will preside.

The second Sunday of Easter worship with holy communion will be celebrated at 9 a.m. April 7. Girl Scout Sunday will be observed. The Rev. Donald Hayn, interim pastor, will preside. Coffee house fellowship follows Sunday School Power Hour begins at 10:15 a.m. for ages 3 through grade 12. The final classes meet May 12 before the summer break.

Trinity's Youth Group is planning a mission trip to help provide "Hurricane Sandy" clean up relief in New Jersey in July.

An organ recital featuring student Alex Haggerty is coming up Sunday, April 14, at 3 p.m. There will be refreshments served following the performance.

A Mother-Daughter Brunch is being planned for Saturday, May 11, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Luther Hall. This is a free event. Please RSVP to the church office in advance at (610) 377-4303.

The Northeastern PA. Synod Bike for World Hunger will take place at the Bob Rodale Fitness and Cycling Park, Trexlertown, on May 18. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., the event begins at 9 a.m. Contact the church office at (610) 377-4303 for a sponsor sheet to benefit the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) World Hunger Appeal. Participants are welcome.

Beltzville Lions to meet

Beltzville Lions Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, April 8 at Ss. Peter and Paul School hall. Anyone interested in learning more about joining the club, should call Gail at (610) 533-9311.

The club is hosting a cleanup day at Lock 13 at Parryville at the Lehigh Canal Park through the Delaware and Lehigh National Corridor Commission on April 20 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Anyone who would like to participate in the workday is asked to contact Tom Zellner at (610) 377-6444 or Bob Maholick at (610) 377-5559.
