Lehigh Township's Regional DUI Enforcement Program conducted a DUI Roving Patrol beginning Dec. 21 at 10 p.m. for Operation Safe Holiday.

Officers from Plainfield Township, Pen Argyl, Bushkill Township, Tatamy, Walnutport, Stockertown, Moore Township and Upper Nazareth Township participated in the event.The officers contacted 42 drivers and issued nine citations, 29 warnings and made six arrests for DUI, including one person who was uderage.The program will be conducting patrols into the New year. Officials remind residents to designate a sober person to drive.Persons suspecting a DUI driver on the road with them can call 911. Reports of suspected underage drinking should be called in at (610) 317-0808 in Northampton County or (610) 437-5252 in Lehigh County.
